Anyone remember the old fitness thread where people could ask the forum experts any questions they had? Let’s start one for 2020.
I’m doing three months off the booze as need a break and I’m gradually moving from about 8 fags a day to a vape. 40 this year so need to sort my life out. Used to be in the gym 5/6 days a week but haven’t done anything for a few years.
I will start - does the 5x5 system really work?

I like to walk about 80 miles a week. More in summer. Eat sensibly. Don’t smoke. Drink as and when but too much always hurts so avoid over doing it. Done Veganuary and feel fucking amazing. Lost 5 lbs of Christmas weight so all good.

Joined a running club that is based on zero to 5k in 10 weeks. 3rd session in and trying to get on a treadmill another two times a week. As per my other thread, trying to give up the fags and move onto he vape.
Think I need to start putting on muscle so might finally start the 5x5.

Right, i ran 1.6 miles on Monday, 1.8miles Tuesday and 2.5 miles this morning.
